I was first introduced to Crossfit in 2010 after four years of collegiate boxing. As a track athlete growing up, I had a very limited knowledge of weight lifting and the many performance benefits that it had to offer.
After experimenting with Crossfit workouts on my own for two years, I joined a “box” (a CrossFit gym) and found the guidance provided by the coaches and the community offered by the other athletes reminiscent of the camaraderie and direction offered by organized sports.
I moved up to Minnesota in 2014 and immediately found a gym to join. Since I was essentially living at the gym, I started coaching. This quickly became a full-time profession. Crossfit became an integral part of my life – helping me develop confidence, foster lasting relationships, and develop a sense of gratitude for all of the incredible moments that life has to offer.
I have a passion for helping others achieve their athletic goals and, more importantly, developing the capacity to remain strong in the face of adversity. I have worked on developing this in the gym which, in turn, has served me in many areas of my life.
I have an incredible four-year-old son, Clark, and a beautiful wife, Kelly. More often than not, I find that the most functional use of my fitness is trying to keep up with Clark’s seemingly endless energy levels! In what little free time I have, I enjoy: drinking coffee, listening to podcasts/reading (you will probably hear me reference these constantly), spending time with my family, and tinkering around on the guitar. If I don’t do it first, please come introduce yourself!
